Our vision for the Politics and International Relations Department is to be a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence for enriching its students in researching political thought and international relations. Our vision also intends to inspire and empower them to help policy makers, diplomats and government officials.

Introduction

The two-year ADP International Relations program offered at Lahore Leads University’s esteemed Department of Politics & International Relations is designed to provide students with a top-tier education, focusing on the dynamic field of International Relations, where they will delve into the intricate workings of global affairs, state behavior, power dynamics, and national interests. As students’ progress through this journey, they will be exposed to fundamental concepts and theoretical approaches in International Relations, paving the way for in-depth analyses of contemporary global issues and conflicts.

Program Objectives

Comprehensive Understanding: To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical frameworks, historical contexts, and contemporary issues shaping international relations

2.

Analytical Skills: To develop students’ analytical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to assess complex political, economic, social, and cultural factors influencing international affairs

Practical Knowledge: To equip students with practical knowledge and skills necessary for engaging in diplomatic negotiations, policy analysis, conflict resolution, and other real-world applications of international relations theory.

4.

Interdisciplinary Approach: To adopt an interdisciplinary approach, drawing insights from fields such as political science, economics, sociology, history, and law to enrich students’ understanding of global politics.

5.

Ethical Awareness: To cultivate ethical awareness and a sense of responsibility among students, encouraging them to consider the ethical implications of their actions and decisions in the international arena.

6.

Global Citizenship: To foster a sense of global citizenship and cross- cultural competence, preparing students to interact respectfully and effectively with individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Professional Development: To support students’ professional development by offering opportunities for internships, research projects, and networking events, enabling them to explore career paths in diplomacy, international organizations, academia, journalism, and related fields
