Associate Degree Program Courses (ADP) in Mass Communication

[ADP] Framework According to HEC Undergraduate Education Policy 2020

Introduction/Description/Objectives

The Associate Degree Program in Mass Communication program is a 2-year/4-Semester Program which has been designed to equip the students with adequate knowledge and skills which would help them taking an early start of their professional career so that they can earn their livings and support their families too. Candidates holding Associate Degree can continue towards respective BS 4-year degree program. Or the student can apply for new admission towards any BS 4-Year degree program (Subject to admission eligibility with exemption/transfer of relevant qualified courses) as per policy.

 

The main objective of this degree program is to provide students with thorough understanding of the mass communication, journalism and social media news reporting, TV writing and production roles, Advertising and Public Relations principles and analytical opinion writing techniques in the mass communication, which will prepare students for post- graduate study in Mass Communication.

 

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate (equivalent to 12 years of education) with at least 45% marks.

 

Duration

 

It is two-year full time study program spread over four semesters. ADP students will cover the 60 credit hours in four semesters.

Agenda 3. Approval of Deficiency Courses for B.A/B.Sc. Students Seeking to Enroll in the BS Mass Communication Program

 

The department of mass communication is presenting a list of six deficiency courses weighing 18 credit hours (3 credit hours for each course) for those who have passed their B.A / B.Sc. and seeking to enroll in BS Mass Communication. These students will enroll in the 5th semester of the program, first taking deficiency courses, and then continuing their BS Mass Communication degree.
