Climate Resilience Perspective of Rural Poverty in Pakistan (2024)

Climate change poses a serious threat to Pakistan, and its rural communities remain the most vulnerable. Rising temperatures, floods, droughts, and changing weather patterns have intensified rural poverty by reducing agricultural productivity, damaging infrastructure, and limiting livelihood opportunities. From a climate resilience perspective, tackling rural poverty requires sustainable farming techniques, better water management, renewable energy solutions, and community-driven adaptation strategies. In 2024, the focus is on integrating resilience into national and local development planning to strengthen food security and protect vulnerable populations. Lahore Leads University emphasizes the importance of research, awareness, and education in addressing these challenges, equipping students and society with the knowledge and skills to build a sustainable and climate-resilient future for rural Pakistan.
